Highest Total Capacity in its Class for Enhanced Productivity
NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 5, 2009) - Toro is pleased to announce that the new Workman® HD Series utility vehicles – designed to provide superior durability, performance and versatility – will be available through your local Toro distributor in spring 2009.
The new lineup of Workman HD Series utility vehicles offers industry-leading towing and hauling capacity, enabling customers to be more productive than ever. From the front bumper to the rear bumper and everything in between, this heavy-duty utility vehicle is designed with super work capability in mind. Depending on the model, total capacity ranges from 2,835 lbs. to 3,002 lbs.
“The development of the new Workman HD series incorporates valuable voice of customer research from golf course superintendents, sports turf, parks, municipal and university turf managers, as well as technicians and operators,” said Tim Koch, senior marketing manager for Toro utility vehicles. “This research led to a design that enhances the toughness and durability of the Workman to an even higher level of job performance.”
Design components on all six models include an I-beam shaped DeDion rear axle, which isolates and protects the engine, transmission and main frame from vehicle loading; a truss-like front space frame for superior torsional rigidity; integrated wheel bearings; and hydraulic disk brakes to make the Workman ready for the toughest challenges. Combined with a proven suspension system that utilizes a fully independent double A-frame front suspension, operators will enjoy an incredibly smooth ride and enhanced productivity.
The new Toro Workman HDX model features an electronic fuel-injected engine for enhanced fuel economy, instant cold starting, automatic high altitude compensation, and a powerful and responsive driving experience in all working environments.
A multitude of attachments and accessories are available for the new Workman HD Series, including the Toro Workman 200-gallon Sprayer, Vicon Spreader or Topdresser 1800, and comfort additions such as deluxe hard cabs, canopies and windshields.
