Free, easy access demonstrates Jacobsen's dedication to customer service

Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 18, 2009) — Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announces on-line availability of hundreds of product service manuals, free to end-users and others who need instant access to this type of detailed information. Free product service manuals can be found at http://www.jacobsen.com/americas-manuals/ .

Brian Melka, director of product management, and Peter Whurr, vice president of product support, were instrumental in this on-line initiative with the goal of improving customer satisfaction.
“Providing free access to Jacobsen product service manuals is very important in this economic climate,” explained Whurr. “We want to make it as easy and cost-effective as possible for our customers to maintain Jacobsen products in the field.”
Visitors to the Jacobsen Web site will find service manuals for both current and discontinued equipment. The site will be updated on a regular basis. If a particular Jacobsen product service manual cannot be found, a request, including equipment details, can be emailed to

Today marks a historic day for the IGCEMA and our industry as the IGCEMA launches registration for the first ever Virtual Trade Show. Starting today we will begin our journey to March 18th, when we open the trade show to attendees all over the world. The Virtual Trade show was originally conceived to bring more Equipment Technicians the ability to attend a trade show, as well as Superintendents who normally didn't make the trip to attend. With the Virtual Trade show in development over the last year we have taken advice from many manufacturers to help enhance the experience. We would like to thank the IGCEMA Virtual Trade Show Committee for their help and continued support of this program, as well as the IGCEMA Board of Directors and leadership for seeing the vision and opportunities that this event will produce for many years to come.
